All students participate in music as part of the Ascension curriculum. Two musicals are presented throughout the school year, one at Christmas and one in the spring.
On Wednesday afternoons the students in Kindergarten through 5th grade have an opportunity to participate in Ringing Angels, an after school hand-bell ensemble, where students learn music and rhythm. “Ringing Angels” is an amazing opportunity for students to enrich their music abilities.
Every classroom participates in arts & crafts projects or art instruction associated with their curriculum and grade level. Ascension is also excited to be a part of the South Bay HandsOnArt (SBHOA) program. This is a local, non-profit organization that designs special art projects for area students. SBHOA then trains parent volunteers to become art docents for their own school. These “parent docents” then teach and facilitate the monthly art projects for their own school.
